The year 1975 was a grim year in the history of Kurdistan, because not only the revolution but also the hope for liberation was completely collapsed. Defeat had permeated the trenches, the depths of society, and the soul of every Kurd. There was no glimmer of hope left that could barely illuminate the people's vision. Tens of thousands of loyal Peshmerga of the revolution were subjected to displacement and ruin, and they harbored longing and pain in their depths.

It is clear that this situation lasted only one year when, in the middle of 1976, the leadership of the revolution reorganized itself and once again rang the bell for the start of another armed revolution against the enemies and those who, through an international plan, had caused the collapse of the Aylul Revolution. From then on, hope and aspiration returned to the revolutionaries, and the activities of the Peshmerga in various parts of Southern Kurdistan began to rise. In fact, there are many battles and epics that the Peshmerga have in the history of Gulan Revolution recorded in many areas of Kurdistan, they were able to strike major blows to the positions, military bases, and institutions that fell into the sights of their weapons,

One of the great and historical epics recorded by the Peshmerga forces was the epic of Kani Sef and Chomerasi of Qoche Mountain on the Sayid Sadiq – Penjwen road, on October 20, 1980, when a Peshmerga force with their light shoulder-fired weapons engaged in battle with an Iraqi army force fully equipped with heavy and light weapons. Despite the force that confronted the Peshmerga in the battle, the Iraqi government landed a large number of other forces in the area by helicopter to support its forces, but that did not become a place of fear for the Peshmerga or cause them to cool down in the battle; rather, they continued the war until they were able to strike a major and effective blow against them. In the final result of that epic, a large number of Iraqi army soldiers were killed and many were wounded, and an officer with the rank of Captain pilot named Ahmed Ismail Aqili was captured by the Peshmerga.

But what is regrettable and a curtain of shame on the struggle and sacrifice for a sacred goal is the inappropriate attitude and fragmentation in the revolution. Immediately after the end of the battle and the victory of the Peshmerga in that epic over the Iraqi army, a force belonging to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan appeared suddenly in the Kani Mangawa area and attacked the Peshmerga forces from behind. After a hot and bloody battle, two Peshmerga named Muhammad Wardawala and Azad Sheikh Qadir were martyred.
