After the collapse of the Aylul Revolution the Peshmerga and the military leaders of the revolution were displaced to the country of Iran, but this never meant the end of the struggle for freedom and independence for Kurdistan, and once again, from exile, preparations were made to restart the revolution. In August 1979, the Peshmerga force was sent back to Badinan with the aim of reactivating the Party's organizations. Upon their return, their task was to patrol through the villages and countryside to revive the secret organization and carry out Peshmerga activity(1), as it is clear that during that period the Peshmerga force was organized within the framework of the Party organization as branches, districts, and organizations(2).
In the month of May 1981, a Peshmerga force of the two organizations of Martyr Shahiaz Salih and Martyr Mahmud Yusuf, who were affiliated with the Zakho district committee, were on a patrol (movement) in the villages of the Batifa area to carry out several revolutionary tasks. On the 25 of the month, they reached the village of Minine. As night fell, part of the Peshmerga force went toward the village of Khizava with the intention of buying provisions and daily necessities. That village was near the surveillance of the Ba'ath regime's military forces, so the Peshmerga force divided themselves into three groups very cautiously so that they could protect themselves if the regime's military force encountered them. For this, one group went to a place called Cham Jahur, the second group to another place called Faramok, and the third group went to the village shop to buy goods and supplies. The Peshmerga of the third group were scattered around the shop, and some of them were busy buying goods(3).
At this moment, they saw that they were surrounded by a military force of the Iraqi Army, so they only managed to inform each other of the situation. It did not take long before the Iraqi Army soldiers opened fire on the Peshmerga, and a fierce battle took place between them. The soldiers attacked the Peshmerga who were besieged in the shop. About four to five soldiers fell into the sights of the Peshmerga's rifle barrels, and they were all hit and fell down. Along with the soldiers' shooting, fire broke out in the citizens' houses. It is clear that the hitting of those soldiers who attacked the shop gave the Peshmerga the opportunity to gather themselves and put up a strong defense, but at this time, all the force that had besieged the village attacked the Peshmerga. At the same time, another military force affiliated with the Batifa Brigade and Dashi Chii came to the scene of the incident to support and assist their force.
When the Peshmerga force saw the situation in that way, that there was a large force of soldiers in the village and another force was coming to their aid, they thought of breaking the siege and saving themselves. At this time, they escaped through the roofs of the houses and the alleys of the village and reached their other companions who had previously been stationed in two places. Later, they all saved themselves together and returned to their places without losses(4).
