The continuation of the Peshmerga forces' activities broadened the battle borders between the Peshmerga Forces and the army and armed men of the Ba'ath regime and encompassed most of the various regions. Undoubtedly, the Peshmerga forces were always looking for an opportunity to strike a lethal blow to the government forces in every corner and to convey the message of protest and stance against the violation of Kurdish rights to the public opinion. In this activity of the Peshmerga forces, which took place on the night of January 10/11, 1988, the attack was against the Sixth Special Battalion in Mandil, 5 kilometers away from Chamchamal.

The attack against the military forces of the Iraqi regime was carried out with the participation of the Peshmerga of the Chamchamal, Shwan, Bazyan, and Kalar district committees, the Rencdaran organization, and a force from the headquarters of the Third Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. It is clear that during this period, the Peshmerga forces were organized within the framework of the party's organization as branches, districts, and organizations. After the map and plan for conducting the Peshmerga activities in the region were set, and after the completion of preparations and the determination of the start time, the attack on that battalion began. With the first step of the Peshmerga, they captured the battalion's center in a short time and within forty minutes. As a result, 14 mercenaries and a high-ranking military officer were killed and 37 were taken prisoner. It was clear that the losses of the regime's forces in this battle were significant, and as far as is known, these were: the explosion of the battalion's warehouse, the burning of (40) military tents, the burning of (3) TOYOTA vehicles, and two military Eva vehicles.

In this battle, the Peshmerga Forces achieved many gains, such as the seizure of (2) NISSAN vehicles, one TOYOTA CORONA, one LANDGROUS, a large cargo vehicle, (4) Kalashnikovs, (6) RPGs and (40) RPG shells, one RBK, (2) binocular devices, and a telephone device.

In the recording of this epic, 4 Peshmerga were martyred, and they are: Salih Mihemed Star with the alias Rebwar, who was a Peshmerga of the branch center; Rizgar Hemid, a Peshmerga of the Chamchamal district committee; Cebar Xefur with the alias Dewane, a Peshmerga of the Shwan district committee; Salih Mihemed Salih with the alias Mam Salih, a Peshmerga of the Duz district committee; furthermore, 13 other Peshmerga were wounded.

Undoubtedly, such activities of the Peshmerga Forces had a positive and important role in raising the morale of the Peshmerga and gladdening the hearts of the people, in such a way that the power of the revolution is such that at any time and wherever they want, they can attack the regime's forces. At the same time, it created great fear and anxiety within the ranks of the military forces, and they were forced to start shelling and bombing Kurdish villages to eliminate this fear and anxiety.
