Ezo Sheikhomar was born in the village of Shanadar in the Goretu district of the Mergasor district of Erbil province; he passed away in 1988.
CareerEzo Sheikhomar went to the Soviet Union with General Mustafa Barzani on May 23, 1947, and participated in the Qotur war and the Maku bridge war, and after many hardships and difficulties, he crossed into the Soviet Union from the Aras River on the Iran-Soviet border on June 18, 1947.
After their arrival in the Soviet Union, on June 19, 1947, he and all his comrades were placed in a closed camp in the city of Nakhchivan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, surrounded by barbed wire, guarded by a group of soldiers, and treated as prisoners of war in terms of food, clothing, and transportation. Later, by the decision of the Soviet state, they were distributed in Azerbaijan in the regions of Aghdam, Lachin, Ayulakh, and Kalbajar. On December 10, 1947, they were transferred to a military base on the Caspian Sea in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and on the 23rd of the same month, they were given military uniforms and underwent 8 hours of military training daily under the supervision of the officers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, they received Kurdish language lessons four hours a day from some of their educated comrades.
After the bad treatment of Jafar Baghirov towards his comrades, it was decided on August 29, 1948, to move the military camp from the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Chirchuk community near Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where they continued their military training.
In March 1949, he and his comrades were distributed in groups by train to the villages of the Soviet Union and worked on the fields of the kolkhozes (lands that people had received from the state and later gave a share to the government).
After much effort and sending several letters from General Barzani to Stalin, finally a letter reached Stalin in which Barzani described the pain and suffering of his comrades, and he immediately gave the order to form a committee to investigate the situation of Barzani's comrades, and finally the committee's decision was to gather them all in the city of Vriviski; for this reason, the aforementioned went to the city of Vriviski in the Soviet Union in November 1951.
In 1958, the Republic of Iraq was established under the leadership of Abd al-Karim Qasim, and the aforementioned returned to Kurdistan with his comrades on April 16, 1959, via the ship Girozya through the port of Basra in the south of the Republic of Iraq.
