Martyr Farman Hamad Samad was born in 1977 in the village of Lelkan in the Dashtehert area, belonging to the Sidekan district of Erbil Governorate. He was engaged in farming.
In 1991, after the popular uprising in South Kurdistan, he joined the organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1996, he became a Peshmerga in the Sidekan Army. He participated in all the battles to defend the rule of law in the Sidekan area. On June 18, 1998, on Mount Saqar in the Sidekan area, in the battle to defend the rule of law, he was martyred at the hands of PKK militants.
