Martyr Muhammad Mahmal Hamad Rasul was born in 1942 in the village of Balak in the Khwakurk area, affiliated with the Sidakan district, Erbil Governorate. He was illiterate and married.
In 1991, after the popular uprising in Kurdistan, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga under the command of Teacher Hamid Effendi. In 1995, he was transferred to the 2nd Erbil Army. He participated in the battles to defend the rule of law. On September 15, 1997, he was martyred in the battle to defend the rule of law in Haji Omaran by PKK militants.
