Martyr Omar Ismail Ali was born in 1966 in the village of Spiara in the Khwakurk area, affiliated with the Sidakan district in the Soran Independent Administration, Erbil Governorate. He was illiterate and married. After the uprising of South Kurdistan in 1991, he joined the organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1995, he became a Peshmerga in the Sidakan Army and participated in the wars of defending the rule of law. On November 7, 1995, in the war of defending the rule of law in the village of Lelkan in the Sidakan area, he was martyred by the hands of PKK militants.
