After the fall of the Shah of Iran's regime, many Peshmerga moved to South Kurdistan, where Mother Halima's house turned into a shelter for the Peshmerga Forces. One of her sons (Ayoub) joined the ranks of the Peshmerga of Kurdistan at the beginning of the Year 1982, and he was martyred on 10 February 1982 in the village of Gork. After him, her other son (Ismail) was martyred on 29 September 1984 in the Kamka mountains near the villages of Aminki and Babukhki, and his body fell into the hands of the Iraqi Army. As for her third son (Salah), he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga after the martyrdom of his two brothers, and he was also martyred on 20 July 1986 in the Akre area. After the martyrdom of her three sons, the fourth son of Mother Halima (Muhammad), known as Hamo, joined the Peshmerga Forces, where he was martyred on 19 April 1987 on the main road between Duhok and Amedi.
Mother Halima's house was always viewed as a Headquarters for the Peshmerga Forces, as she was held in respect and appreciation by the masses of the region. In the Year 1985, she moved to the liberated areas and resided in the village of Badia and Botia in the Zawita and Qaziawa area. In the Year 1988, after the Anfal and the chemical attacks by the Iraqi regime, she tried to go with her children to North Kurdistan, but the Iraqi Army prevented her and she was forced to return and hid in one of the forests for a period. The regime later arrested them for 14 days, and they were released later due to protests by the local residents.
In the Year 1991, she was at the forefront of the uprising of the people of Kurdistan. She was awarded the Barzani Medal on 16 August 1996 on the occasion of the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
